AS THE NAME SUGGESTS, circular looms are the best way to create circular projects! Traditional circular looms have a round shape with teeth or pegs all the way around the outer rim. You can warp them up in two ways: either by winding the warp around both the front and back to create a “double warp,” or by warping up the front only in a figure eight pattern. The trick to weaving on a circle is to ensure you weave on an odd number of warp strings. Even if you mark an odd number of notches, you will end up with an even number of warp strings, so always treat one pair of warps as one, unless you’re warping from the center out as in the projects on this page and this page.
